there is a temp sensor on the inlet that could be faulty, or the cold idle unit itself could be faulty, or it could just be a broken wire, the best way to test the sensor, is unplug it, if i remember right, this makes the idle rpm raise as it thinks its really cold (i could be wrong as its been a while since i messed with my engine elecs)
