TBH the spacers and extended bolts I used were probably only designed for use with slightly larger wheels than standard. But the wheels I had on my Escort were over twice the normal width, not to mention the difference in offset
. If the extended bolts I had used did not snap, then I don`t think my wheel bearings would have lasted too long
(a bit like Chop Shop-London Garage....LOL....).
So I would not worry too much about using spacers or extended bolts, as long as they are suitable and you re-torque the wheel nuts after a short amount of use
