TBH I`ve been using AVG for years now and it always works great for me. I have it running on all the PC`s in the house. My stepson is always downloading shareware, movies, songs etc and AVG has always picked up on any viruses. I update the AVG file every day so I think that helps

I`m surprised it came bottom in tests, I know quite a few people that use it and they are all happy with it. But as you say, probably a paid system would perform better, I`m just tight...LOL...
