hello mate, cool bodge ha ha
yes you can alter the black plasctic mount but be careful, i had to do this to get the rover turbo ones to sit hard against the sealing ring in the m/fold but take too much of or you will crack them as i did to about five of the feckers.
I did mine by holding them against a belt sander so they were altered evenly.
