Default Hello all from s12 owner & Forum Newbi

Hello all

I have finally managed to take some time & figure out how to post an item on this forum.
I have been reading through some of the items & there seams to be a wealth of info on these cars. Its good to see some support for the S12 as I feel they don't get the credit they duly deserve.

I have an 85 Silvia in Red. She is in mint condition with 130k now. I?ve had her for 17 years and I am her 3rd owner. Absolute full service history form new.
I have used her as my every day car till about 6yrs ago when I then treated her to a complete strip down respray. Body work was in excellent condition just the nissan red had faded to orange. She is now my sunny day driver only as I also have an S13 as my everyday car.

She is standard, ie no power steering or electric windows, however I plan to rectify this over the summer as I have all the bits now to convert this, including the door cards to match my red/orange & black trim.

I am also putting on Power steering, just waiting for my oil pot to be Chromed & P/s rack to be reconned. I am also in the middle of doing the front suspension struts. I have the new inserts for the struts, just can't decide on what to do about the springs. I want nice shinny new ones but don't know if I want to have them lowered a little or not? & nissan no longer do the originals.

I am keen to keep her close to original and think of the upgrades as the ones that were an optional extra in her day, however I have also put on Braided brake hoses, an electric cooling fan & K&N filter with Silviagod modded air intake so far.

I have also just purchased another Red S12. its a fully loaded 86 prefacelift. but needs a little TLC. Only rot on this one was the front wing, the rest is very good condition, except for the red/orange paint. I might use this one to experiment with a little.

I will try to post some photos later.
