headgasket
i think my headgasket's let go after todays drifting a bovvy
 was just changing some tyres and noticed a oil patch under the front, quite a bit of it aswell.....it was pissing out from under the inlet manifold, looked in the oil filler cap and there was a tiny bit of mayo..... can't think of anywhere else it would be coming from, except the oil feed to the turbo but i don't think that will have split... i think its had a snapped head bolt since ive had it tho so i guess its held up pretty well. time to get the engine hoist back out and pop in a spare lump i think

yep can only be the turbo feed, oil pressure sender adapter or oilfilter,sandwich plate leaking. Unless you think its pissing it out the side of the headgasket. the mayo may not mean anything just yet if its only a small bit.

well the top of the starter motor is full with oil, so that puts the oilfilter/adapter/pressure sender out of the picture, its really difficult to see under there tho, but i wouldent be suprised if it was pissing out the side of the gasket?

i wouldnt either. years and years ago Dr silvia used engine flush on one of his et engines and on next start up oil pissed out the side of his gasket
 . . Adzs12 headgasket went rotten most recently aound his water ways. there old engines and most of them still on the original head gaskets The head gaskets go rotten .

ive had a look this morning in the light, but i still can't really see anything
 its really tricky to look under the inlet manifold, ive tried using a little mirror, etc but its all pretty oily under there so its hard to say where its coming from.....how would i go about removing the oil feed with the engine in the car? i'm gussing i'll have to take the oil filter off....heres a little pic of the starter with a little oil resivoir on top of it, the oil's pissed everywhere, all down the chassis/inner wing, etc also the snapped head bolt is on the other side of the head so i would have expected that side to go first?

Well yesterday, I actually helped someone do the headgasket on their S12.
This one suffered water getting into the combustion chambers, and the reason was due to the HG rotting from lack of anti-freeze. However, there's one pressurized area, and its right beside a head bolt. Its the inlet side, 2nd one in from the rear. In my opinion I'd be surprised that its rotten the gasket there though

ok so i pulled the engine out had a little look at the side of it and it all looked sweet, apart from a bit of oil here and there......couldent see any signs of oil coming out of the headgasket so started to take the oil feed off, even tho it looked fine as well, and when i went to undo one of the bolts holding it to the engine one side of the feed just came away and sheared off, so it was obviously leaking from there
so now i don't know what to do, put this engine back in or my spare i think i did about a mile with barely any oil pressure getting to the services with it, the temp dident rise but it dident have much oil left in it, i was only doing about 50mph tho......or put my spare in which came out a crashed car and hasent been run for over a year i think i'll have a beer and sleep on it and decide tomorow
