Default HELP! No warning lights or tacho...

The following DO work:

Air-con
Fan
Interior lights
Clock
All dash, clock and instrument panel back lighting

BUT The following do NOT work:

Tacho
Warning lamps (handbrake, battery, etc.)
Dash boost guage
Fuel warning light

I have checked all the fuses under the drivers side of the dash.
Checked all fusable links inside the black plastic box by the battery.
Checked as many earths in the engine bay as I can find.

Behind the fuse box is a black and pink large plug that appears to have nothing to connect to?

To my battery + terminal I have:
  • 1 Large cable that goes directly to starter motor
  • 1 white cable that heads off towards alternator
  • 2 brown wires that join into a white plug

The only thing i can think i have done that might cause electrical trouble is when i took all the engine + parts out of the engine bay i needed to put the window up so i connected a live to various places including live side of lighter, the white alternator wire, etc. The window juddered up very very very slowly with help when the white alternator wire was given a live.

I'm totally baffled by this and have been for days now. Yet another morning wasted on this today.

Any thoughts, suggestions, photos or comments very welcome....

Anyone? Please?

I checked the plugs behind the glove box as Adz suggested but they're ok.

ECU?
Alternator?

Problem solved.

It was a fuse

When I first checked them all they looked ok. I took them all out and tested them with a meter one by one and found one that had blown but not obviously to look at.
