Default Lost all my oil

I lost all my oil today. i first saw it all over my gearbox bell housing. I had to drive 15 miles with the oil not registered on the dipstick. I took the coil pack cover off the centre and there was oil puddles in where the spark plugs were. So i took the exhaust cam cover off and found the gasket was split where a centre coil pack cover fixing had snapped off weakening the seat for the gasket. this little shard of cast ally is now floating about in a oil jacket in my head. its not anywhere near the cam/tappits though, but still very bad. Its lost for good in there.....I felt round the back of the head and there wasnt obvious traces of a path where the oils got down to the bellhousing. the head is resonably oil free from touching it(i cant see round the back) . But around where the head bolts to the block in the back exhaust side corner there is loads of oil still there.

SO........ ive fixed the cam cover gasket and need to buy oil and drive it tommaz. I will have to find out if the corner oil gallery has blown clean out through the head gasket.. Its all very annoying and im getting rather fed up with the stupid car at the moment. i feel like kicking its back doors in dry

I have just Spoke to 30psi on msn and i was mistaken, there isnt an oil gallery in this area. That may help me sleep a little better but its still not 100% .

a little. i was a bit frustrated as i really need a weekend off this weekend as ive been flat out at work for the last month and have been working 6 or 7 days a week.I didnt fancy having to do my head gasket.

I cleaned the bellhousing up with brake cleaner and siliconed up the broken gasket under the cam cover for now until i can get one from nissan. There isnt any more oil on my bell housing after 80 miles so it must of just been the one leak.

Next job is to trace a poor running fault that appeared last week about 4 days after fitting my new ecu. Sounds like im geting a misfire and change in engine tone off boost and a fuel cut type jerk at around 10psi or so and the car isnt boosting properly. Its going to be something like crank angle sensor/air flow meter, fuel pump wiring or ecu or something. il try swapping my old ecu back in first. i also need to engine flush the engine and put new oil in it.Its currently running on Duckhams 20/50 mineral oil ( any oil was better than no oil to get me home without destroying my engine)

misfire was the ecu.I may have to send it back to horsham developments for a refit.

Other than that i tinkered for the 5th time with my breather sytem and hard piped it with ali tubing today and also polished the pipe on the mop at work before i fitted it. The engine bay is looking so cluttered so im now trying to tidy everything up and hide as much pipework and wiring as possable for my JAPEURO look

a misfire from the ECU plug not being done up tight enough isn't un-usual

i have taken the ecu cover off and there is a broken solder joint. It will have to be repaired. But i have changed my oil today. its so clean and clear its hard to see the level on the dipstick. I hate the 16v dipstick.

Bodywork is the next thing on the list
