Default Blown rad

Been a lazy bugger over winter, but had a long weekend on the S12 and sorted it out, drove lovely . . . untill the brand new alloy rad popped!

I think the HG might have gone and popped it, although not getting any steam out the exhaust, so it might have been touching the bonnet, either way . . . BUGGER!

I wanted to go to the OJC show at the weekend aswell . . .

There was a group buy on SXOC for them.

Will have to have it out and see how it failed, and do a compression test to see if the HG did cause it. Will do that tomorrow night.

Hopefully it's repairable, should be looks like it gone on the weld between the 'header' and the matrix.

Now fixed (hopefully . . . not leaking yet)

Only explaination was that it either flicked a stone up in the fan, or more likely some heavy handed gorrilla dinged it on the fan when fitting it

After having a look at it, I concluded the bonnet was touching it and forcing it slightly too much towards the fan. So I remounted it further down, but closer to the fan.

This was a bad idea!

Turns out the bonnet wasn't catching it, but the mount bracket I made was flexing at speed and pushing the rad back.

So I had to fix the rad again (even bigger repair this time) and made new brackets for the rad and mounted the intercooler while I was at it. Removed the mechanical fan and mounted twin electric ones in there.

So there we go, no problems with the rads, just me being a muppet!
