Default Reformed s12 nutter !!!!!

Hi everyone,
Can`t believe I`ve only just found this forum (after searching the internet for s12 info for the last month)
I would like to apologise in advance for the length of this post, I do tend to "waffle on a bit"
The story so far ......................
Once upon a time, in the quiet rural town of Rochdale. A handsome young man called Ian (that`s me of course ), bought himself a black 1.8 s12 turbo, which had a fooked blower.
Ian thought to himself "this motor looks rather tasty, I should pull plenty of skirt with this" (aplogies to the Lady members ).
After many months of fettling on his sister`s driveway , the car was finally finished. But little did our hero know, that the black beastie would bite back
Within two months of being driven with pride around the "upmarket" streets of Rochdale, the auto transmission went pop . This was due to the fact that our hero decided to floor the loud pedal when an "uncouth youth" (try saying that fast, twenty times when your pished ), tried to overtake in a scooby. The gearbox dropped down into second gear at over 7000 rpm, the scooby was defeated, but next day the gearbox was no more
Now our hero wishes to resurrect the old-and-rusty (that`s where I got my user name from ), black beastie, that`s hopefully where you guys can hopefully help. With plenty of good advice and sympathy when I bust my knuckles on the restoration . Cos I want the ending to be................................................ .................................................. .........................they both lived happily ever after
Seriously now....
The car has been off the road for the last six years, I`ve been in touch with Paul (silviagod) who hopefully will be able to sort me out with some body mods later this year. Originally, I was a member of the "rice burner" and managed to get to one of their meetings in Liverpool, which was pretty cool
Over the last few years my Businesses have taken up most of my time, but now I`ve got a few hours to spare, to get the old girl back in to shape again.

Previous mods (that I can remember doing) are:-

Complete engine re-build (including ported and flowed head).
Recon and upgraded t2 turbo (360 degree bearings etc).
Stainless steel single box exhaust system (which I believe at the time was the first one made by Silvia Engineering).
Boost upgrade.
HKS ignition module.
Cossie intercooler and 5th injector kit.
Electric fan conversion.
Uprated plugs and leads.
K&N airfilter.
Urethane bushes to anti-roll bars.
Lowered springs and uprated dampers.
Drilled and grooved discs all round.
Uprated pads and aeroquip hoses.
16 inch alloys.
Astra bonnet vents.
A mass of graphics, including 3 coloured zebra stripes and huge turbo graphics down both sides (sad I know, but at the time they were in fashion.......honest).
Plus a load of other interior mods that I can`t remember now

Hopefully, I will be able to get her back on the road again next year some time. I will keep you all updated and pick your brains when needed

Sorry again about the long first post. Reading it back makes me sound like a real tit

CU all again soon,

Kind Regards,
Ian.

Hiya Pukka,
Thanks for confirming I`m a waffler

I will be replacing the auto for a manual (if I can find all the bits). I usually prefer a manual, it`s just that I knew the history of the car (from it`s previous owner) and new it was in good shape, until I got my sticky little paws on it . That`s probably one of the things I will be picking your brains about in the future, so don`t be shy with the answers

The only piccies I have are from about 8 years ago, their that old, you can see my pet dinosaur on one

Sorry I won`t be able to make it to Peterborough this weekend, I`ve got a wedding to go to (not mine though ). Besides, I don`t really think it`s appropriate to arrange a weekend away just yet, we`ve only just met .

Once I`ve got started on the old girl (the car, not the missus ), I will see what I can arrange.

Thanks for making me feel so welcome, by the way, despite my waffling and warped sense of humour .

Regards,
Ian.

P.s I love what you`ve done to your motor, especially the fat arches and the interior. I was being serious there, could you tell ????

Hi Wacomuk,

To be honest I`d never that of that (re- the fifth injector). I wonder if I could use the same position for a spray set up for the intercooler instead.

Thanks for the tip.

Regards,
Ian.

Wacomuk,
I`ve just been trying to have a peek at the two links in your posting, but it`s telling me I`m not authorised to view the content.

Is it an age restricted site , or is it just cos I`m a newbie

I just want to be nosey, honest

Regards,
Ian.
