Side repeater lamps must be fitted on cars registered after 1st April 1986

so in light im guessing you should be ok without them, even thou the car was made with them, they only have to work if they are there, if they are not there, then the year of the car says they dont have to be there. you should pass fine without them, and if they question it, ask them to look it up.

you could try phoning an MOT place to just check, just say you car has had a set of pattern panel wings put on that didnt have the hole for repeaters, your car is 1984 so due to MOT rules this will not have an affect on my car if i dont fit them??

that should do it, you shouldnt have to tell them what car it is or any details except the year. tis a lot of work to go through only to find they have a loop hole.
