Anyone fitted RX7 injectors?
I'm just wondering if anyone has fitted RX7 injectors.
I've tried doing a search but 'rx7' is too short to be used. Anyway I've tried fitting the injectors and have found that the plastic cup that the injectors fit in squeeze the injector into the manifold and therefore its bound to cause an air leak. Has anyone sanded the plastic cup down a few mm or just done away with the cup and kept the rubber ring round the injector and the clamp. It looks like it will work as it squeezes the injector in nicely but just wondered if anyone had any issues before I go ahead with the idea. No, the black cup that it normally sits in
The injector is shorter than a standard one so it don't even touch the O-ring that sits inside the manifold

i would either try modifying the plastic cups or try a metal sleeve over each bolt,one or the other cos its gotta tighten against something,personally id go the plastic cup route but im a perfectonist

Yeah i'm gonna use some pens at work for the sleeves. It does get tight but not at a specific point as it just squeezes the rubber up more.

isn't the plastic cup just a stabilising spacer to assist even clamping,Like you say the rubber o ring seals the join.As long as the o ring is the same size as the standard injectors then your picture of what you are thinking of doing should work fine in my opinion .The clamping on the o ring is very small anyway,What cc injectors are those out of interest.
I never really looked into it but doesnt the dropping resister on the s13 have something to do with changing high to low impedance on injectors?

hello mate, cool bodge ha ha yes you can alter the black plasctic mount but be careful, i had to do this to get the rover turbo ones to sit hard against the sealing ring in the m/fold but take too much of or you will crack them as i did to about five of the feckers. I did mine by holding them against a belt sander so they were altered evenly. Good luck.

Jon - Low impedance injectors are standard on the S12 and S13.
Low impedance injectors require about 4 times the amount of current to drive them. The S12 ECU can handle it (hence why its got a huge heat sink) whereas the S13 ECU is ideally designed to run the lower current, high impedance injectors. Dunno why Nissan just didn't use high impedance injectors but in their infinite wisdom they decided to use the dropping resistors. These injectors are 550cc. Kenny - If i can get access to a belt sander I will sand down the cups but it don't look likely.
