Default Miss-fire

On idle I have an intermittent miss-fire on no.1 cylinder, fuel consumption is also on the high side. I think this is due to injector not working properly, maybe not squirting everytime is there some way of checking this or does anyone have any other ideas as to what it could be?

Melted spark plug or faulty ht lead or dizzy cap/rotor arm maybe. Have you done a compression test.

Plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm, HT leads and coil are all new. Compression is good last time I had it dyno'd it had this problem and produced 96bhp at the wheels with around 6psi boost. It only misses occasionaly at idle and the co value fluctuates also at idle, it dose this with 2 different air flow meters on it's not the air flow meter. I think this is something I am going to have to live with as everyone I've asked and who has looked at the car are baffled.

Today when I went to work it was the first time in a long time I've had to use my lights for a while and I noticed that the idle got worse with them on turned them off it went back to what it was before. Could the alternator be on it's way out? I know it not the battery as I replaced that not long ago.

IAA unit, that compensates for the lights and other electrical parts, this is on the front of the plenum, its where you alter the tickover.

What does it look like? Is it a relay or something like that?
