Default Rear shock absorber and spring removal

With rear wheels removed and car jacked up.

If you have lowered springs on the back then these can be pulled out easily once the car is jacked up and any cable ties or p-clips have been cut off.

Spring clamps should be used evenly if you are removing standard size springs, once the clamps have compressed the spring and its free to move, remove the spring from the car with some jiggery pokery.

The rear shocks are easy to remove, In the boot remove the covers that hide the speakers and theres 2 12mm nuts .

Holding the bottom nut loosen the top nut in a anti clocwise direction, With both nuts loose, undo the 17mm bolt that holds the bottom of the shock in.

2 ring spanners are used here and fully remove the nut of the bolt and slide the bolt out.

Then holding the shock further loosen the 2 12mm nuts and the shock is then free to remove

You may find the bottom 17 nut and bolt to be a little rusty but if prepared properly with wd40 or a similar spray then the rest is simple
