Silvia speakers
I've decided to get rid of the crappy paper type ones fitted as standard and have found that the fronts and backs are 6" square. No-one seems to do them that size, they are all smaller or bigger. Anyone found any that fit in the oe space ???

i have 5" in my fronts, but have to drill the screw holes, and have a 6mm gap round the outside. so maybe 6.5" would fit, with an adaptor ring made of fibreglass or MDF.
i have a bit of covered MDF with 6 x 9's in, i never saw the original standard speakers, so cant help there sorry. ** EDIT ** just thought, when i got a new set a short time ago, i got the same 5" ones, and they have the plastic cover front on them (where my first ones didnt) and this covered the gap, the screws catch the edge of the hole, and facia covers the 6mm gap, so you may get away with them, depends on how fussy you want to be. you could get a cheap £15 set to see how you feel about the fitting, then get some more expensive ones once your happy with it.

I've ordered some from Fle-bay but have remeasure them and as long as the fronts have a bolts diametre of 114mm they will fit.
Anyone adapted some 6x9's to the rear as if you remove the bracket there is loads of room ???

I know I'm heaps of late. But I have either Kenwoods or Pioneers in my fronts. And if I am correct, the rear speakers are about the same size.

Time is an illusion
I had to whittle some space out of my doors to get some 6.5" in, guesstimate that 6" will slot in nicely, but if you havea shufty online decent car hifi places will give you mounting dimensions for their units. |
