Default silvia vs ae86?

How come the corrolla AE86's are so expensive yet we can still pick up s12 for peanuts? What so good about the corrolla? My silvia cost me £200 quid and i reckon i should be pushing 200 plus for probably £250 outlay!!! Bargain power.

because ae86's have been used for drifting by the japs loads and now everyone wants one + they have a lsd as stock and a nice revvy engine and are light, but as everyone on here knows s12's are better (or at least better value )

AE86 have a better chassis and have a long racing heritage. the 4AGE also has heritage and is very closely based on the Ford/Lotus BDA. S12's don't have that kind of history so they're never going to have the same kind of attraction for people that are worried about that sort of thing. I personally think that a CA18ET in an AE86 would be a weapon

That's what I was about the say. People here in the States take 86's way too seriously. I think there shitty. I don't like how there soo small. The S12 is way better & a little bigger. The only reason why there such a big deal is because of the Drift King. It was his first car. That's what he used for Drifting. So therefore it's his favorite. The 86 isn't even an easy car to Drift in. Alot easier to do it in a Turbo S13 than in the 86. The 86 drives alot like the Miata. You constantly have to redline it. But that's just what I think. If you can Drift in a 86 then you can Drift in any car. That's why alot of the people in D1 that drive 86's are soo good. They've mastered it. It's not an easy car to get for your first Drift car.
- S12 AE86. Lol.

i would reckon that although the ae86 is supposed to be better as standard, i think that if you got a silvia and an 86 and modifeid them to the same levell of tune using similar or the same components i reckon the silvia would end up better. surely most of the silvias extra wieght is in its interior? i.ve had a couple of toyotas( a front wheel drive corolla gti 16v and a mk1 mr2) and both of thier interiors were very flimsy and lightwieght, whereas in my silvia its like having 2 velour armchairs and its all bolted together with cast iron! of course i'm probably wrong cos i've never seen an ae86.
