Longer wheel studs installation?
Hey guysjust brought some longer wheel studs for the rear wheels on my s12, habe had a quick look & seems the only why to install them is the dissconnect the driveshaft & remove the hub is this correct or is there another way round it, also if i have to remove driveshaft & hub can someone give me a run through what i have to do?
many thanks James |

It just involved drilling a one-off hole into the thin metal brake disc shield behind the brake disc, slightly larger than the stud heads (say around 3/4" - 1"), at the right distance in (aligned to a stud's radius from the centre of the hub), and then simply turning the hub to align the studs, and whacking them out backwards (erm.. ie inwards!) from the front, through the hole? - The reverse can be applied when inserting the longer new ones! SG assured me that the hole will make bugger all difference to the protection of the disk, as it barely provides any anyway... As I'm not mechanically minded, I'd double-check with other members of the forum, but hey - I'md going to have to do it again to fit my spacers, so should be okay!... Saves a sh*tload of time if you were intending to do it the other way... Den.
