Over 300bhp should be possible on 18-20psi, but its only safe if the mapping is good.
What cams do you have, what exact turbo etc?

Any pics of the broken bits?
Its not the psi that will kill the engine.the boost level you end up with will just be what it has to be to match your fueling limits. Its just detonation or Rpm that will casue the damage. Either that or the engine already had a fault. 300hp shouldnt be a problem on a healthy standard engine. With a good map and safe rpm limit it will last. 330ishHP has been run on the standard engine many times with the horsham developments chip and spec setup. Good luck in your quest for a new drop in unit.Sxoc classifieds is your best option admitedly
