Default AAAHHHHGGGGG never rains it pours!!!!!!!

driving home tonight, as i enter my town, had bout 1/2 mile to go to my house, i notice the engine tune sound a little funny, yep it was missing on low RPM when i gave it a little rev, bellows of white steam, limped it home parked it up.

i didnt even need to check, but i did anyway, indeed no water, and then when i turned it over again, one cylinder stopped it for a sec then just started.

head gasket is fubber

so looks like thats my job for tomorrow evening

i guess such is life.

What a ball-ache .
It`s always when the weather gets colder, it`s peeing with rain, pitch black or there`s snow on the ground, that these jobs need doing.
Hope you get it sorted out.
Regards,
Ian.

well tis all up and running again.

head gasket had gone on the compression ring on number 3 the ring had a crack in it, and number 4 was about to do the same, strange enuf last time the head gasket went, it was in the same place...... but...... that was also a different head and block, strange.

still maybe next time ill get a copper gasket and then i shouldnt have the prob

does the 200sx DET one for the s12 ??? for furture reference.

my first head went on number 3 firing ring of the gasket, never had any probs with the head i got from silviagod, it helps with the wire rung block, i think i'am going to use a copper gasket and wire ringed block on the fj20.

head looks fine no signs of corrosion or anything, i guess it could have a little warp in it, but would be coincidence that both my heads have blown the same place.

i can understand that with your FJ tbh, its gonna be under a hell of a lot of stress.

my ET running bout 10psi isnt really straining the gasket, thats std boost on the DET.

wheres the best place to price up an ET copper gasket.

you can use the det steel one, it just needs a slight mod on it, if you go for copper, speak to mike tanski @ ferriday engineering, i ran 32psi on the ca18et and it stayed in 1 piece.
