wen i got my silvia she seemed to be running fine appart from exhaust blowing we repaired that and then did all the body work then i took it to the paint shop it was runnin like a bag of shit jerkin all the time with no power i got it back from paint this weekend and changed the plugs the old ones were all sooty it ran top for two minutes but now it runs crap again it pile in out black smoke too you lot any ideas

try the fuel pressure reg, mine did the same a couple of weeks ago, put a gauge in and try the line pressure 1st, mine was running 60psi.

boost leak?? maybe i know its nnuthin to do with the plugs but explains the jerkyness

Mine had simular symptoms not so long ago. Turned out it was blocked injectors. I supose 20 yrs ant too bad. Got them untrasonic cleaned for £25 each. What a difference it made. Car is fun to drive again.

Worth checking your Air Flow Metre, If this is not working properly, than can have a simular effect.
