Exclamation Clutch problem

Only today after a long trip I noticed my clutch goes in fine but sometimes it gets stuck just above where the biting point is.

Then occasionally it'll pop back to normal on either the two factors, one being letting it do it by itself or secondly tapping at the clutch pedal with your toe. ( i.e it doesn't sit level with the brake or accelerator pedals and makes a annoying thumping noise 1-2 seconds after changing gear <<< sometimes it just gets stuck )

I'm guessing something to do with the clutch but the clutch is only just 2 years old, it's not a con thing about the car is it. That the clutch tends to go every couple of years. ( Just frustrating knowing I might have to hike on foot over 2.5 miles in a day and at bloody after midnight in Scottish weather )
If anyone has a relative idea on what's wrong then fire them on, but my last clutch cost £215 supplied and fitted....so any help knowing where to look than my local garage would be a big bonus.

Cheers

RWD clutches are so easy to change it is ridiculous.

currently I can shift through all 5 forward gears but reverse just won't go in and I'm not shoving it in as first time I tried it did that nasty grinding noise so I just push parked my car up for the night.

I'm not sure if mines a Mk1 or 2 anyone who knows the difference lend me a helpful tip ( 1987 E-reg ) Also is it a hydrolic clutch or cable? Can't exactly tell in the dark and without any jacks or ramps on me at the time.
Might necessarily not be the clutch itself as my peddle is getting stuck almost right down now yet it's still able to shift through the gears without any clunking or grinding bar reverse.

I'm going to take it to a local garage I know well 2moro, to see if they can help tell me what's wrong ( I'll have to get slagged for not buying the owners r33 skyline instead I got an s12 ) any help again will be welcomed.

that will be mk2, you have the bigger bumpers, and the longer front grill bit, the change over year was 1986 there abouts.

s12's have a hydrolic cluch.

i think i would suggest cluch itself, i think all the forwad gears have synchro, but reverse wont.

Thanks for that info umpkin. Just about to take the car down to the garage and shine some light on the situation, will let you know what they say as you might be correct.

well that didn't help much, found out the possible reason for the sticky clutch peddle. It's either leaking fluid from the small reservoir or it's either the slave or master cylinder that's gone. ( couldn't get the car up onto ramp as they're fixing my neighbors mk3 supra with a new exhaust so I just left it down there until 5pm were I'll call and check if they had time. )
