s12/s13 confusion?

I did a search for Silvias between 84 and 88. Found a bit of S13s in the front page. They say they have 88 Sils. Okay, they may have been built in 88 but they are an 89 model. They are of the s13 chassis, which has been stated from Nissan to be from 89 on. Why do people do this. Do they not know the exact time line of the Sils?

Reason I ask this is because those who put them seem to mostly be from Aus or Britain. Any clues?
