Question for our resident Reliant owners!
Whats the rear axle set up on the SS1's?
Sierra based? Any idea on width (drum/disc face to drum/disc face)? |

i have some type approval docs with the widths on work PC.
PM me your email address and will dig them out tomorrow. as wacomuk says, std 3.92 7" open non lsd diff, push in driveshafts but with reliants own narrower shafts. rear drums are reliant specific, as are the hubs as they are 100mm PCD. rear shoes and mechs are escort mk3 van. Rear bearing carriers and semi trailing arms are also relaint specific. if you need pics of rear end without bodywork on, can email those too

PM'd
Can't find any live axles narrow enough that will take much punishment, so looking at an IRS setup, more work, but it might work. Though Reliant would use ford setup, but struck me as narrower than a sierra. I thought about narrowing a S13 setup but the cost is getting shafts shortened as per narrowing live axles, and I am as ever on a tight budget. Going to check on MX5 width aswell. |

loadsa pics sent to ya hotmail
also pic showing overall lengths of ss1 push-in driveshafts. as with std sierra versions, there are two lengths, one long one short. not sure how they compare to sierra lengths though
