Default mk1 / mk2 front strut tops

can anyone shed any light on this, i'am having problems, i've taken my kyb inserts out of the mk1, they where in some struts that turbo mike gave me, but i've put my inserts into the coilover conversion, i used the struts off of flex's mk2 ,only to find that the caps wont fit over the inserts, are the mk1 and mk2 threaded tops that hold the inserts in different.if so has anyone got a spare set with the thinner sidewall.cheers.

the wall of the top cap, below the thread is 4 mm thicker,so it won't go over the insert, its stopping it going low enough to thread it in.

these won't mate, whats happend, is when you use the inserts, the thread only winds down about 3 threads and leave some thread showing, so mine have got water in and rusted solid, so i had to cut the tube below the threads, so it would release the insert, the tops that i've took off are 4mm to thick, so they can't drop low enough over the insert, to reach the threads, i'am to.i was going to fit them this week, as i've sent for some tein camber tops .

if you are trying to use the standard caps and the ones the kybs came with are different which they probably are then that must be the problem
