i've read the threads on crystal lights & pukka's seem to be the only decent working ones!
i dont even know due to not checking if the standard s12 mk2 headlamps are seald beam or they have bulbs???? bad i know! my lights are really bad! my old mini sealed beams are brighter & the silvia lamps have just been adjusted right at the MOT???? AS I ADJUSTED THEM LOL if s12 kit fits then i'd go that route, what are you chaps using? i know some of you on here dont see it as apriority as your s12 is your 2nd/fun car where as mine is my daily my side lights have given up the ghost due to corrosion of the bulb holder so i need to sort them asap |

I have HID's on my Datsun. They're pretty easy to fit, and they're very cheap now days.
They do glare other drivers so not the best to have on a car thats not designed to take them, but oh well.

Headlamps.
Hi Chaps,
I was just reading the posts about issues with the silvia headlamps at night. As far as HID's are concerned, I wouldn't bother. Oh yes! They are nice to have and to a degree 'fashionable' but also expensive, and as Martin said, They do glare drivers at night, I know, I'm one of them. Don't for one minute think I have something against them, I don't. What I could recommend, is a set of replacement filaments (bulbs) from ring, the filaments are H4 designs and come in at £17 or there-abouts, they offer increased light output Approx 30% which is crisper than the originals but at the same power and they fit straight in as the originals so no fannying around trying to get them to work properly. You will be able to purchase these filaments at any good auto store. Why not ask. I hope this will be of some assistance to anyone out there in silvia land that needs a quick filament replacement / upgrade that works well and is good value for money. Best regards, john |

Am I right in thinking we could then just throw any H4 bulbs in??? Would it matter if they were 100W or any different???
Would this have an effect on other electrics or would they be more prone to blowing??? PHHHHeww!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of questions there |

I used one a 100W H4 white light bulbs on my s12 and it did do any good.
Standard H4 bulbs are better. Or maybe the ones i used was a cheep crap and that was the problem. |
