Default Rinsed a Civic Type R this morning :-)

i know at best Civic Type R's are quick but being up its tail this morning (on a track of course! Knockhill) made me remember how wicked S12's actually are, even if they've been lowered on standard spongey shocks and only have been light tuned to about 200bhp.

my S12 swept through the bends at 60/90 and on the first straight kept up the bum of the Civic Type R with loads of power left... there was no room to overtake. 2nd set of bends, along with other cars, we behaved like gents and waited for the straight... he nailed it and went ahead slightly until my turbo whizzed up and slipped the car into 120 to 130 so i could take him with ease... the Civic seemed to pitter out at 90 and i had loads to go pushing into 140 before i had to slow... left him for dust as he tried to keep up...

shame that only old blokes ever seemed to buy the things when they were young cars... i suppose they were de-tuned so the fuel consumption didnt look horrific to the buyers like the Fiat Uno Turbo and many other cars.

if Nissan only had the marketing know-how to make an R version of the Silvia, it would have had its place as one of the best coupes of the 80s.

They did but, as was usual untill recently, they kept it for their home market.
