Default Hullo (again)

Hi guys. Its been about 4 years since I've been on here last as I sold my S12 in 2007 in favour of an S13. And now seeing the light again, I'm getting shot of the 13 for a (rather tatty) s12 on the 25th of this month...and I couldn't be more excited.

So hello again!

Been following your build on SXOC....mental! Bet thats taken some effort.

I have a sort of personal rotary binge on the go at the moment, and am very tempted to put the FD rotary in the silvia....but only a thought at the moment. Race on? :P lol.

I picked her up friday night I couldn't be more chuffed. After an hours messing around yesterday, it drives pretty damn well. Its a good start for a cheap car. But by no means done yet

Needed a battery and an airfilter after we trailered it back home, and I drove it all last night and today with no issues (the caravan ain't mine!)

And apologies for the photo's they're not mine, they're from the forsale thread

Also there are a couple of things i'm trying to remember from my last s12, and I've had a search and I'm struggling!

1. Will S14 from calipers bolt straight on? (obviously with the right pads and flexi's)

2. That rediculous little valve on the back of the inlet manifold...it's a 3/4 BSP plumbers blanking plate that fits into it isn't it?

3. Is it 10psi you can run safely with no intercooler? and 12psi with? I can't remember for definate

4. The facelift (little side lights) does have a rev limiter... doesn't it?

5. They do have back-lit speedo/techo/etc? ...'cos mine don't work...but the interior light does :P ...job for next weekend!

s14 calipers fit straight on, but with s14 discs being wider you could do with spacers behind the pads to stop the pistons popping out when the pads get low, 10 psi is about right without an intercooler, 12 to 14 psi with, but get it checked out on a dyno, rob on here runs 16psi on a t3 with cossie i/c, get a cheap 5th injector set up and a pressure switch, then you can set the injector to come on when the afr starts to lean out, a crude method but works for cheap.

Thanks guys useful as always!

The Pad spacers for the S14 calipers...just something the same shape as the pads' backing plate?

And I think I'll leave the 5th injector set up...I'm not sure what I want to do power wise yet, I've got a load of other bits to do first.

you can use a scrap set of pads, just grind the old pad off down to the metal.

That's exactly what I was thinking I'll collect the bits.

Is there a company to recommend for the conversion brake lines?
If not no worries, I live a few miles from where the Driftworks braided lines are made. I'll ask them
