Default UPDATE car running poorly

so I bought this s12 to build up to a road worthy state but...
theres no spark
coil pack looks cracked underneath and looks like has had water in it

the coil pack bracket is very rusty

I took the earth lead off next to it cleaned it and but still no go

any ideas does the bracket and the coil have to have a good connetion? i.e
coil pack earth through the bracket

ca18et
1988
1.8 t

thanks

cracked coil? doesn't sound good. Nevertheless take the coil pack out with the brackets etc clean off the rust and make sure you have a good ground as northerner said. May be worth making sure the connectors aren't corroded is its had water around there.

Default started

so go this running and it runs like ****

pops and farts then sometimes runs ok, then maybe 30 seconds later bogs down and cuts out

removed fuel filter and drained tank as much as possible while rebuilding it I though id collect a bit of the new fuel from the line...

1) it hasn't got a good continuous flow of fuel I kinds of spits and spats the a good burst then stops, is this normal??

2) once it cuts out crack the feed line off after filter and there loads of pressure and what seams lots of air

are the pumps common on these??

thanks

Try using the earth swicth
so cut the wire and earth it to body or fit switch
That will keep the pump running all the time the ingtion is on
Hope that helps

Default update

so...
where im up to,
tank removed
emptied cleaned and refilled
all lines blown out
injectors removed and cleaned
have to put a earth direct from the fuel pump in no runs all the time with the ignition on
removed dizzy and cleaned point up

runs a lot better

but still not right

at idle misfire, at boost seams a lot better
smell of fuel but the o ring on the tank split so it could be that
does it at any temp
was struggling to start this morning too

Check timing?
Check MAF?
It's been a while since I played around with a CA18ET!
