how does a car start?
anybody know how to make a car start? basically, how do you hotwire?
I'm looking at the wirig diagram, and to me...it looks like if you make a connection between the wire going to the starter, and the wire going to your ignition live, then the car should start... or do I need to make a three way connection between those two and 12volt constant? I'm generally okay with electronics, but I don't have the knowledge of how the ignition cylinder works so I'm not completely sure.

Get a new key cylinder barrel unless you want to snap the steering lock aswell. And i have found in the past when i have done this the lock tab from the steering lock falls down though the shaft casings and makes it very graunchy and dangerous.
You can guess the hotwiring.Theres only a couple of wires. Just twist the constant + to the ignition positive then touch the starter wire to the 2 you have twisted together until it starts then take it off and cover with insulator.
