Is it such a crime to debate selling my own car?

Regarding the other replies here: I don't understand people on here. It seems unique to this site as well. Its like once you buy an S12 your owe your life to that car and you can't sell it. On other clubs people question why someone wants to sell their car, they reply with their reasons and other club members accept this. People here should be thinking of Adams best interests. If he sees fit that by selling his car he can move on in life sooner, than accept it, be happy for him and wish him luck for his future. The S12 isn't even a rare car and certainly isn't the best car ever made. So of anyone wants to flog their cars then allow them to do so. Its not like they can't come back and own another. People here need to get out and see the bigger picture in life and there are more things to life than owning a car. |

Anyway, yes ok, if Adam wants to sell his car then it is his decision and if it helps him move on in life then I personally wish him all the best. As for the value of his car, I'm inclined to agree with Martin about selling the bits then sell the car as standard. Let's face it, none of our S12s are worth much in real terms. We all like to think they're worth what we've spent on them but they never are. This is probably why nobody wants to suggest a price. Book value is probably pennies. Adams car is probably worth about £950 as it stands. Maybe I'm wrong, don't shoot me down in flames if that offends. The question was asked about a price, I've given my opinion. Ding dang do.

i also agree that selling the performance bits and turning back to standard then selling would get more money as unfortanuatly s12s dont seem to be worth a great deal even mint,if people wanna sell their s12s thats upto them ,people on here try an persuede you not to sometimes because they think of all the work thats gone into it and think you ll regret it especially considering the smallish amount of money you get when you sell, but good luck with the sale if thats what you decide,s12s are getting rare martin,i havent seen a single one for years round by me except when rich popped over ages ago,and there are none in the scrappies either, without a computor i would be fecked for bits, there are much more important things than owning a car of course, but your always going to have one most probably and there is nothing wrong in having a hobby and getting the most out of it

i would suggest that you bang it on ebay as it is and see what responce you get obviuosly put a reserve on it and see what types of offer you get if you are happy with the offers and if it hits the reserve its gone if not sell the parts and sell the standered silvia as martin said you will make your money back that way hope this helps if i had the money i would have offered you 2k but i dont mate so hope that indicates roughly what the reserve should be flying around at hope all goes well for you mate

And of course we may also try and persuade Adam not to sell his S12 because we like the guy and want him to stay on the forums!

i agree with flexxx ebay with a reserve could be a good idea. if it has a healthy turbo i would expect it to go for around £1500 and maybe sell the safc seperatly.Or with a t28 and a few touchups here and there it could get as much as 1750 to the right buyer i dont think completely stripping it for parts is a better idea as most of that cars value is in the labour thats been put into it already. This can be seen when looking at it.
Martin (30psi) While it is in discussion and it is still a maybe other enthuisiasts are going to try and convince him otherwise. Good luck with your s12 sale.
