sounds like you need to get a new other half. Only joking.

Most performance or classic cars are money pits. Its crazy how much it costs to keep a car going .

Is the battery the correct battery for the car with the correct cranking amps?.
Does the engine burn a lot of oil?
It probably needs a new thermostat for the overheating problem.

sounds like the starter motor is nackered to me or the connections to it are poor, the clicking is the solenoid on the starter sticking or not having enough power to throw it out

what was the overheating problem?

the starter motor is drivers side underneath the inlet manifold. its only two bolts holding it on and can be removed from above or below the car, whatever you find easiest.

i would continue to use this with the fmic. you can undo the screws around that pipe, they hold a clamping plate. you can then rotate it to suit an angle for your new pipework.............. Its been a long time since ive seen an et inlet manifold so if i have got this bit wrong, somebody slap me with a trout

Top mounts are not the best idea as they get heat soaked and are not very efficient, but its still better than not having one at all. maybe have a look into nissan pulsar original intercoolers . I take it you have seen silviagods intercooler on his website?

If i were you i would try and do a front mount setup or maybe even reasearch into doing a topmount chargecooler
