Default starter motors again.....

why doesnt my s12 starter fit anymore. it used to fit on my first det engine. now with the rebuilt det i use now it wont fit in the gap. It fouls on the s12 engine mount. I had to use a s13 starter.

il be taking it off and testing it monday evening. id like to know that i had a s12 starter again as back up but dont understand why it doesnt fit now. Its a joke

I've only had it hit the water pipe its always been an inch away from the bracket.

I'd test the voltage at the ignition barrel and work forward or backward from there

ok will do.

If i have to remove the starter after all il have a look and see if i can spot this water pipe which you mention.

i bridged the 2 contacts on the starter with ign on and the car started


So i ripped the clifford alarm out and hit it with a hammer and rewired the ignition barrel. That alarm has been anoying me for too long.

Im now going to order a stand alone remote central locking system control box for my clifford central locking kit that i have left installed


Drove the car back home

Cool thats good to see for future reference. Thanks. As if my s13 starter dies i will want to go back to an s12 one as i have loads of them kicking around

That bit about the s12 starters any chance any of them would be for sale? as long as in good working order. As i tried to order a new one today and they no longer make them .

Forget last post dude. Ive sussed it theres a problem with the solinoid switch. So ill just get a new one
