Default Alternators!

Right trying to find a new/reconned alternator, but having a problem as most places list them for the S12 as a single V pulley, and I'd swear and even bet money mines a multi vee.

Whats is everyone elses??? You show me yours I''ll show you mine

Can some peeps have a look and see what number thay have got on their alts???

Mine is:-

23100 12C11 (Nissan)
AsT02394B (Mitsubishi)
12V 70A

just get that and put your pully on it, and you have to mess with the wires slightly. i have a mk2 one on my mk1, just changed the poly V to a single, the mk2 has 2 spade terminals as opposed to the nut and studs on the mk1

Making sense now, mine is a mk2 but has nuts and studs rather than spade connectors, so by the looks of it, it's a mk1 with a mk2 pulley on it.

Only problem now is that the pulley wouldnt come off the old one and while trying to get it off I think I've broken something as the nut and shaft rotate independantly of the pully

Have you still got that mk2 pulley umpkin??

when i tried using the mk2 alternator with the mk1 pulley the hole in the pully is bigger, i had to have a piece machined and pressed in, then it is'nr quite inline with the other pulleys, it sits a few mill back and wears the belt after a bit.

i dont have the pully nomore no sorry

i never found any prob with the shaft size everything fitted fine.

if you have the spindle and the nut turning seperatly to the pully, means you have prolly cracked the seal on the pully, but have jammed the nut on the thread in the process.

cant remember if it was a left hand thread on the nut either??? prolly not...

It's a right nightmare at the moment, spent about 40minutes in a motor factors trying to find one that fits, the replacement it lists for mine have single vee's, and some list multi vee but only in 60amp, while mine was 70amp.

I will have another go tonight, I have found one that ticks all the boxes but thats £200!

Umpkin where did you get you mk2 one from and how much was it??

I've got a selection of alternators at my workshop but haven't a clue what they are for.

I'll check part numbers and see if I have one that you need if you like?
