Default sand paper

for sanding down the car what grit type sand paper do i need?

I'm usually the lazy type...so I go with a rougher sand paper.

220 grit..preferably wetsand. Then move up to 400, then 600, then 800, then 1000 and then finish it with 1200. All wet.

That's if you want it perfect. If you just wanna do a quick job...you can do maybe 220, 600 and then finish with 800 or 1000

if your not repairing, but just rubbing down for paint, then i would use 600 for rubbing down for primer, and then rub the primer down with 1200 for top coat paint, all using wet n dry paper, for the water i use washing up liquid in water, this works quite nice, just keep it lubed with the water solution.
