This happened to me twice in a manta but with a fiberglass bonnet,first time it ripped totaly off,second time it stuck to windscreen,didnt bust the glass though luckely.
certanly makes you jump

Nasty!

Never had a bonnet fly open before, had the drivers side windscreen wiper fly off on the motorway miles from home in the pissing rain though!

Sounds like a nasty night, glad your both ok though

My car has been into the bodyshop and is all fixed now . I had the wingmirrors colour coded along with the door handles and the bonnet badge smoothed at the same time.
