Make sure its good fresh heavyduty shockproof gear oil in it, That should give it half a chance at least.... gearbox and diff oil are always forgotten about and not changed......ever!
 . I have alss neglected mine  , me and Dr silvia(ant) are doing ours next week. I think Speedfreak had his gearbox hardened/strenghthened, not sure on the details though. He sold it to s12-600
