Default more questions guys!!

Been stripping the silvia turbo/manifold off today (gasket blowing). Ran out of light with one stud left in the manifold.....the ackward one underneath by the turbo!! Cracked it but just cant get in there to spin with me 17mm spanner!!! Gonna cut one down!!

Questions>>
1. how do i identify what turbo i have. Was originally told t2 does not have water cooling and mine has?
2. On flea bay Braided oil and water pipes for s13's will these fit as would be some much easier to refit the turbo with these one that the hard pipes!!!
Plus benefit of routed away from heat?

Inaddition interior stripped ready for bucket seats to go in!! Rad and mech fan out ready for intercooler! question 3!! thinking bout removing the thermostat as purely track use only, is this a good idea?
ohh and me mate has just taken delivery of a blue gen 2!!! so we have our own little owners club going on. his is 2 good to track so having unwanted bits from mine.

once again cheers guys!!!

they should be originally 14mm spanner

i found i just had to fiddle till it came out tbh, tis realy a pain in the ass nut.

answer to 1. it should be a T2 as std, yes the S12 has water cooling on the T2 i think the most comon way to tell if its a T2 is count the studs on the turbo to elbow connection T2 has 4, T25 or T28 has 5.

answer to 2. only the oil one will fit i think, but it has to have the mk2 engine in it, the mk1 has a completely different oil line to the turbo. the mk2 oil pipe is short and comes from just behind the power steering pump next to the turbo, the mk1 pipe comes from a T bit that also supplies the oil pressure sender under behind the alternator, i shouldnt think the water lines will fit.

some on here say you dont need the water lines anyway, so you could just undo them and block them off at the block end.

cheers mate,
There is mixture of 14mm nuts onto studs and 2 17mm bolts!! the bugger is 17mm that i cant get to. Gonna cut a 17mm combination in half and have a go that way!!! Gonna have fun getting the oil and water pipes back on.....cant wait.

Yeah ive seen 17mm bolts used before but you should find that its still the same size thread so helicoiling for the std studs wont be a problem if you decide to do them

If you have a mk2 engine, then find the piece that firstly screws into the block from either a turbo bluebird or an S13 200sx. This then allows the use of the S13 braided oil feed.
