Cant the left output shaft be used from the s13/s14 diff?

No because it makes the shaft too long, and it full compresses up the cv joints and it even pushes the swing arm outwards

Cheers for all the info mate, couldn't have asked for more. Doesn't look too bad a job. Just one question - Instead of machining the left inner cv joint - could i not just use the cv off an S13 on S12 shaft?

That was the same question by Saras in post 6, to which the answer is no because the shaft will be too long then due to the larger size of the S13 CV housing and shaft.
Of course if you wanted you could have the shaft shortened a little by a propshaft company such as recoprop. |

An S13/14 diff will cost about £80.

The left shaft has to look like the left shaft originally inside your LSD. It will be the shaft left over, so its apparant which one to use.
In principle, you're shortening it by 8 ish mm, deepening the existing groove to take a snap ring. The work can be done with a cheap angle grinder and a cutting disc.
