mK 1 Steering Wheel
Hi
Can anybody help please, I want to change the steering wheel and need to take off the centre push on my original wheel to get to the centre nut, I cant see any fixings. And can only assume that it has to be prized off, I just dont want to damage the wheel. Chavhater |

I think there are two screws holding the center in from the back of the steering wheel. Try turning it 1/4 to the right and checking behind it.

when yo have the big nut off, get a socket and hit it a few times with a hammer and the wheel will pop off.

or borrow a steering wheel removal tool. hitting it with hammer may collapse the steering assembly (my nissan fsm said so...)

Original Steering Wheel
Jackie Fan
Sorry for not getting back sooner, had a few problems. I have turned the steering wheel in all directions and there are no screws. The car is a 1986 with a blue interior, with the wheel the same colour, horn push is a black bar running at the bottom of the centre of the wheel. Help would be much appreciated. Many Thanks Chavhater |

Sorry mate, I might have been getting confused with my Honda. What about behind the two outer horn buttons? Slimreeper removed our old one and it's in his garage so I can't go look at it for you.

No, it just has one black bar with a horn symbol running across the centre, no screws behind that either.
Thanks mate |
