Default Fuel filler cable

My fuel filler flap wont open when the remote opening leaver is deperssed, but the boot opens fine. Do they ware in any particular place and how easy is it to check for ware or a brake? Or how easy is it to replace?

i had the same, i had to dodge it, if you take out the side pocket in the boot where the filler cap is, there is a junction there where pulling or pushing the lever makes either the filler cap open or the boot, on the end of the cable from the from is a plastic locating bit, that snaps off, best to get another cable tbh as its a lot of hassle trying to bodge it. you have to get your arm right up inside to do it, and you need a 10mm spanner to unbolt the cable from the front lever, and the juntion bit behind the filler cap.

it has one long cable that goes from the lever through the junction bit behind the filler cap to the boot, and another cable from the junction to the filler cap itself, its the long cable you need i think. look in the breaking section on here or email silviagod, im sure he will have something to help you out.

if you need to open the filler cap in the mean time, what i did was get a bit of stong-ish wire (i used 2.4mm tig filler rod) but similar will dolike a coat hanger, you can get somin behind the filler cap, pull it slightly open, the side towards the back of the car is where the latch is, just push the latch back and the cap opens, leave it ajar then fill up and close it for security, then do the same next time you fill up.

Cheers I've already got it open and blanked off the hole the catch goes in so the flap closes but doesn't lock. I'll have to have a good look at it during the week.
