![]() It's a manual steering rack on origonal bushes..they seemed solid enough when i changed the rack about 5 years ago ,ill check them again .Tyres are Dunlop SP2000's which are probably letting me down. I just pumped em up to 30 psi and left it at that. Toe was checked a few years ago when i did track rod ends, maybe needs doing again Would the red stuff pads be ok for the road too ? Few pics ![]() This was the best bit on the straights seeing 30 grand worth of lotus elise and subaru impretza disapear in the mirror he he . It was amusing to see how a 20 year old car with an 8 valve engine and a bit of piping from a scrapyard is quicker than modern technomotivery ![]() Oh dear i'm probably managing about 10 mph here ![]() ![]() Feeling like i was in the way but i was having too much fun to pull over. Caterham's superlight's must weigh about half a Silvia but seemed really slow in a straight line to me |

Check them when you go out and then as soon as you get back in. Try and keep the hot temperature around 30 and see how the car feels, you'd be surprised what difference it makes. Let the tyres cool before you drop the pressures, don't drop them too much in one go as that can be dangerous. Remember for the first couple of laps next time you are out that you need to get some heat in, so don't push too hard too soon. The best thing about trackdays is that you have plenty of time to mess about like this and still enjoy the day ![]() Quote:

![]() my misses had these tires on her s14a. They where Shite! get some toyo R888's for your next track day, Cornering speed and braking will be greatly improved! i had toyo t1s's on my Westfield which where great. I put R888's on the difference was amazing ![]()

y'know a tracking check alone is a complete waste of time as it ignores the rear wheels and presumes camber and castor to be correct. A full alignment isn't cheap but can help pin-point any damage, bushing wear etc and ofcourse you could add a smidge of negative camber at the front to help turn-in.
