Default turbo woes

ok i have turbo problems.

the two parts of the turbo appear to be loose, if you look at the youutube videos you can see the intake is loose and not connected to the exhurst side tightly, this is also letting gas'es escape from the join.

now i've taken it off and it looks like its a twist fit ?

please give me your advice

there are other videos in my youtube of it running

yeah. this can be quite common.

the exhaust turbine housing is connected to the bearing carrier housing via a large circlip..

Either the housing or the circlip has worn away with age and nowthe circlip does not fit correctly

you need to either replace the circlip and/or housing or replace the turbo.

I had the same problem once. I welded the housing to the centre bearing carrier nearly all the way round and it kept it gas tight. ( bodgetastic!)
