Default Auto to manual Query/Starter motor

Alright lads, well as some of you know from another thread I posted been having trouble sometimes starting the car when its hot so gonna go get the starter motor looked at. Was just wondering would an S13 starter motor suit our cars with the stock CA18ET engine?

P.S while i'm on the topic of S13 parts onto S12. My S12 is auto atm but down the line will wanna get it converted to manual. Was just wondering what my options were? I.e will the gearbox from a CA18DET fit? What will I need to get? I'll be bringing it to a mechanic to get it done and he knows his S13's like the back of his hands but just curious to see what I can get.

And advice would be appreciated, cheers lads.

Speak to Silviagod to see if the starter is the same for an Auto/manual. S13 gearbox is not a straight fit as its longer. You would have to cut out the gear stick hole further down the turret. Then you would have to have the prop shaft shortened. Best really to stick with an S12 box

Aye that'd be my preffered choice but getting all the parts from a manual S12 is hard, plus would need a complete list of parts I'd need. Wouldnt even know how to check if parts are in good condition. Any breaker yards over here i've found have no S12's. Plenty of S13's breaking though.

May take that starter off you S13eater to see if it helps at all.

for the transplant you will need :

S12 gearbox
flywheel/clutch
insert a new spigot bush into the flywheel end of the crank
clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder plus make up the lines.
you maybe able to use the auto prop shaft (have to check it fits a manual box)
have to adapt the auto box mount to fit the manual box
then you would need the interior piece around the gearstick
then unplug the auto brain which is inside the NSR 1/4 panel
