Default Investing

So, here is another random thread from me. Sorry to bother you chaps.

Anyway, I found this opportunity to invest in foreign currencies. I have heaps more to read and verify my information, but I am seriously considering it. And the currency I am looking to invest in would be the British Pound. I was curious as to what you all feel and such. I have been reading that things are coming around over there slowly as is here. I think for a long term investment, this could be really good. Not to mention, the Pound has always been in favour as compared to the Dollar.

Do any of you do much investing and such? What is your opinion of me investing in the Pound? Any insights that I may not be aware of by chance?

I wouldnt really say that anything is coming around as such here.It doesnt seem any different to me. In fact things seem worse lol. Tax relief was dropped and put back to 17.5% again/ Expences such as petrrol etc are still on the up at £1.20 per litre+ and i know lots of people unemployed. Or skilled people doing unskilled work just to keep food on the plate..just about.

I do think people are beginning to realise that they cant buy a house and paint it with white emulsion and sell it for 75k+ more now. House prices are completely unrealistic and to keep things going banks supported it.This has now pretty much stopped and that side of things seem to improving

The media are told by government and banks that things are improving to try and boost sales and the economy again.

this is just My opinion. I havnt looked at exchange rates and dont monitor them in any way

The pound is quite weak against the Euro at the moment. 4 years ago I bought a job lot of Euros at 155 to a pound. I noticed last week that it was at 114 to the pound. Quite a drop !
