shortest shocks for s12
are foxbody kyb abx shocks the shortest you can get for the s12? my lowering springs are great but the shocks are piss, also i need shocks that wont droop on jacking up, springs falling out was an mot fail. I dont want retainer straps, i want the proper solution. what about bc rear shocks, do they offer what i need?

i'd like to know this too, as i use retainer straps, but i'am sure my shocks don't let my car as low as my springs go, which means the shock will be bottoming out.

BC coilovers UK don't have the technical data for the s12 to hand, showing the max extension of the shocks. I'm very tempted to buy a pair, I just need to find a pic of one jacked up with BC coilovers

IIRC the BC's dont go very low

i think someone once said that either mk1 or mk2 ford escort shocks would fit the rear with minimal work.and i bet you can get ajustable ones, they are supposed to be about 2 inch shorter.

The BC rear perch springs dont, but my springs go lower. im more keen to know if the shocks expand enough to let my springs fall out.
yeah i heard about mk2 scorties. not sure if 2" would be sufficient. I fear itll be a buy n try scenario |

Hey buddy, good news - it appears the full length of the rear shocks from BC and Megan are height adjustable. By loosening off the bottom collar then twisting the threaded part down, and through the base if necessary. Surely that would be short enough to retain lowering springs (sod their lowering spring/perch setup, they dont go nearly low on the back - though you could cut them given they are a straight spring). At 90 quid each they are similar value to KYB with greater adjustability.
If I get a pair, I'll confirm this 100% for everyone. |

The ford e150 vans are pretty short the rear ones anyway. I'm not sure if you guys have them over there!

To be honest, getting e150 and foxbody shocks here costs more than megan coilovers cost over there. n with adjustable shock body height (non dampener stroke affecting) it seems like the best solution either way. Ill be honest, getting tuning, engine n body parts for my s12 is way more expensive than for my skyline. Its far from a budget car
