Default rear stabiliser bolt question

I had a rear stabiliser bolt snap on me so i replaced it with a pair off another s12 only these new ones are shorter by about 1.5 inch than the ones that i took off and now i have some strange noises underneath car.
Does anyone know if the length of these bolts really matters.

Default

you need 2 x 3 foot pieces of threaded bar, this will raise the back so that you can fit an extra pair of springs on top of your existing ones, now your ready for the pod
