Hi Guys... i'm pretty rubbish at all this forum stuff but i hear this is the place to be....

I'm Jamie, i'm in the westcountry and i bought an 85 mk1 a few days ago...

Basically i wanted to get a cool looking, reliable motor for an event around europe with a mate in a couple of weeks... the old skool jap beast seemed like a cool option with RWD and and a nice turbo...

obviously time is tight but we're on the case, plans are to build a stripped out racer with a hint of drift - it';s gonna be a long few weeks!


anyway that's my life story, so hi and i'll get something up in the projects bit soon...

one other thing - is this the hardest car in the world to get a set of lowing springs for at short notice or what? Angle grinder at the ready obviously.

Hello there midge and welcome to the fine world of S12 ownership

Lowering springs im sure there is a place somewhere near s13eater in chesterfield that custom makes springs but its only place I know of, not sure on their turnaround but PM him for their number and im sure he may have an idea.


Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for it.

what is the event your doing? Is it that hatchback car challenge which has a day at the nurburgring?

nah it's called the Scumball 3000 (.co.uk)

it's basically 500 motors around europe... my third year so all good fun!

Im already aiming to do it at some point Gav and you know your gonna get dragged along.

Hope the old girl does you proud on its run midge and you never know I may make it onto the scumball myself one day

it's definitly a cool car.... not sure that the turbo's as good lol smoking like a goodun - 3 days to go aggggggggggggggg!

trying to get AET to build one as we speak! It's gonna be a hard slog!
