Turbo flange leak
So I've just blown the manifold to turbo gasket and not being one for garages or one for working out in the cold, i'm looking for a temp fix to muffle the tractor sounds until the end of the month (when i can take the car off the road and get stuck in).
I'm thinking ceramic/titanium exhaust wrap and juby clips / steel ties...worth a shot, right? tempted to stick some gun gum in there too but worried about it getting into the turbo so might leave that anyone had to do a temp bodge like this before?

beware of gum gum type stuff on there buddy as the higher temps could cause it catch fire.

yeah it is. like i say, this is a temp bodge til the end of the month when i can keep her off the road for a couple days - i get the feeling that little bloody gasket is gonna take more than a couple hours to replace

Having been in such a position before, I can honestly say I found nothing that didn't either,
- Catch Fire - Fall Out - Get Blown Out - Make A Mess It doesn't take too long as a job, assuming everything comes apart properly... The fiddly bit, as always is the manifold! I have lost count of the turbo gaskets I have done on S-Bodies :'(

give mike tanski a ring at ferriday engineering, he still has the pattern for copper gaskets, i got them done out of 2mm and they never blew again.

thanks, will do that - might as well while i'm there!
just trying to muffle the noise for now, i'm sure the ceramic wrap will do the job nicely for the time being - can hardly make it any worse! while we're kinda on the subject - does anyone know what the water/oil fittings are? might make up some braided lines.
