which camshaft to ca18et
Hello,
I aim to take about 300hp out of twinspark ca18et engine, what camshaft would be ideal? Does anybody know the duration and lift of ca16s or ca18s cams? (people use ca16de cam in ca18det, so..) If I got it correctly Twinspark ca18et cam has 248/240 duration intake lift 9mm ca20e 248/248 intake lift 10mm euro ca18et 256/256 intake lift 10mm So euro ca18et cam seems to be best "stock" option, unless those smaller carb engines has a better one. is the 10mm/10mm lift enough for this amount of power, or should I grind the camshaft in motor shop for more valve lift? Thanks, |

Piper Cams produced a re grind for the ET cam, I had the specs somewhere. Also Autosprint in Birmingham produced a regrind, used by most of the Scimitar racers, nit sure of exact lift/duration, but has an asymmetric profile.
I ran the Autosprint cam on my ET, ran 282hp at 16 psi on a T28 hybrid
