Default Are all S13 diffs LSD's?

I have bought a diff from a 1989 180SX will it be an LSD and how do I tell before I start taking it to bits? I read the spec list for the cars and it said they do have a viscous LSD??? HELP !

usually they have a yellow sticker on them that says vlsd, they earlly s13's din't have a lsd i don't think.

I can't find a sticker on it at all. Can I tell if I remove the end casing?

It does have an oil cooler with it so this would indicate it is a vlsd????? why would you need an oil cooler on a non lsd?

Try turning the shafts in opposite directions.

An LSD is almost impossible to turn in opposite directions.

Just took the end casing off, can turn shafts in opposite direction quite easily but why would it have an oil cooler on it and does an lsd look any different inside to a non lsd??

Default Its an early one

Its off a 1989 G 180SX S13 so one of the very first ones. Any numbers anywhere to give me a clue as I am going no further if it isn't suitable.

That's an open diff, if it looks like that you don't have an LSD.

Default Its off a 200sx turbo

How stupid am I , its off a 200sx 1.8 Turbo. Is it a LSD ????? HELP

It looks exactly like the one in the photo, so I've just paid £80 and a round trip of 150 miles for no reason. Bugger
